The former Governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Abdukadir Balarabe Musa has died yesterday Wednesday 11 2020 after a long sickness as confirmed by his son to our correspondent.
Musa who was born on August 21,1936 in Kaya, Kaduna State and was privileged to studied at Zaria Middle School (1947–1952) and at the Institute of Administration, Zaria (1952–1953),he proceeded applying for an accounts clerk (1953–1955) and a school teacher (1955–1960).He later travelled to London to studied in different Colleges to gain additional qualifications.
He ruled the State during the second Republic under the umbrella of People’s Redemption Party (PRP) from October 1979 until he was impeached on June 23,1981 and remain the first civilian Governor of the old Kaduna State and North West Nigeria.
As the Governor,he was denied by the Kaduna State House of Assembly, which was dominated by NPN members and he was unable to form a cabinet since he refused to nominate NPN members which prompted the House to neglected his Candidacy.
The deceased continued to remain proactive in the Nigeria politics and was the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) Presidential Candidate in April 2003 election lacking financial support to print posters which brought about his failure.
Moreover,on August 31,2018 he quit active politics due to his health issues and announced his immediate resignation from Chairmanship of People Redemption Party.
Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari has mourned the late Governor added that all Nigeria will miss him and regarded him as the voice of the voiceless.
